Broken into three sections, the creed confesses foundational beliefs about the three persons of the godhead Father, Son and Spirit. The Holy Spirit, often referred to as the third person of the Holy Trinity, is a complex and enigmatic figure in Christian theology and the focus of the final section of the Creed. Who, not what, is Holy Spirit, what does it mean to be the Church, why is forgiveness so central to the Christian faith and what does life after death really mean?

Broken into three sections, the creed confesses foundational beliefs about the three persons of the godhead Father, Son and Spirit. The claim that Jesus is God's only Son not only separates Christianity from the other major religions like Judaism and Islam, but also serves as the central section of the Creed and the faith behind the Creed. That God would fully enter the human condition is both an overflowing miracle of love and source of hope for every person everywhere.
